Safety Guidelines

The following are Fenway’s Safety Guidelines to which the community is expected to adhere.

TRY IT ON: Listen to what someone has to say.  Try to understand another perspective before you respond.  You don’t, however, have to respond.

IT’S OK TO DISAGREE: You do not have to agree with another person’s perspective, you only have to respect it.

NO SHAME, BLAME, OR ATTACK: Do not make others feel bad about their feeling or needs. No “put downs.”

TAKE 100% RESPONSIBILITY: Keep the focus on yourself by using “I” statements only (i.e. I feel, I think, I need, etc).

GROUP CONFIDENTIALITY: Do not share information beyond the group.
