Reminder: Financial Aid Workshop at Fenway this Thursday, April 8th!

Dear Seniors and Parents/Caregivers,

A reminder that this Thursday, April 8th from 6:00-8:00pm there will be a Financial Aid Workshop here at Fenway in the library. An advisor from ACCESS (a local organization that advises about financial aid) will be here to talk about comparing financial aid award letters, investigating and applying for different loans, and to answer other financial aid-related questions.

Agganis Scholarship

The Agganis Foundation was founded in 1955 to honor the memory of former Lynn Classical High School, Boston University and Red Sox standout Harry Agganis. In conjunction with the Yawkey Foundation, the Agganis Foundation annually awards Yawkey/Agganis scholarships worth $4,000 each ($1,000 per year for four years) to deserving student/athletes. AARP Scholarship:

 

The Franklin Park Area / Grove Hall Chapter #4685 of AARP will award three $500 scholarships on June 12, 2010.  These scholarships will be awarded to deserving senior high school students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and community service.  Scholarship Application Forms can be picked up in my office and must be completed and postmarked by May 22, 2010.

Seniors,

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a legal resident of Boston for at least two years as of January 1 of the year of the application.
  • Have graduated from high school or have completed the G.E.D. by the time the awards are made.
  • Plan to pursue any two or four year accredited post-secondary institution within Massachusetts.
