Peggy
Kemp brings many years of experience designing and implementing
educational initiatives that serve students, teachers, and administrators.
Prior to her selection as Fenway’s Head of School, she served for seven
years as the founding director of the Office of School Partnerships at the
Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) where she initiated
collaborations with Massachusetts schools and school districts, including
the Boston-Harvard Leadership Development Initiative and the Greater
Boston Superintendents’ Roundtable.
Before joining HGSE, Ms. Kemp worked with several national school reform
initiatives including ATLAS Communities, Jobs For the Futures’ Benchmark
Communities Initiative, and a National Science Foundation Comprehensive
Regional Center for Minorities at Northeastern University.
Ms. Kemp began her career as a history teacher in Boston and also held
several administrative positions in the Boston Public Schools, including
interim Headmaster of the O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science,
History Department Chair at the Boston Latin School, and City-Wide Program
Director for Social Studies.
Ms. Kemp holds a BA from Berea College and a JD from Harvard Law
School. She is the proud mother of three sons.
